Roles an aviation management graduate can aim for

The HND in Aviation Management is designed to prepare you for management-track roles across airlines, airports, ground handling, cargo and travel organisations. These are the roles the programme lists. They show what the qualification is aimed at. They are not a promise of a job or a salary: what you land depends on your effort, your experience and the market.

Airline Operations Executive

Works on keeping flights running: coordinating schedules, crews, aircraft and ground services, and dealing with disruption when plans change.

Airport and Ground Operations Officer

Works on the airport side: check-in, boarding, baggage and the turnaround of aircraft between flights.

Passenger Services Supervisor

Leads the team that looks after passengers from check-in to boarding, and steps in when something goes wrong.

Air Cargo and Logistics Coordinator

Plans and tracks freight moving by air, working with airlines, handlers and customers.

Travel and Aviation Sales Consultant

Advises customers and sells flights and travel products, which draws on ticketing and customer-service skills.

Aviation Marketing Executive

Promotes an airline, airport or travel brand to the people most likely to use it.

What the HND gives you to build on

Year one and two include units such as Airline Operations Management, Airport Operations Management and Managing Customer Experience, alongside business and leadership units. See the full list on the HND page.
